Patrick oversees gaming and esports for Ketchum, working with such brands as Gillette and Gen.G. An expert in sports media relations and digital programs for clients, Patrick oversees work across a broad range of sports properties including the NFL, NBA, MLB, college football & NCAA for brands such as Overwatch League, Gen.G, Reese’s, Gillette, Amazon, Hyundai, Wendy’s, and Mastercard. He specializes in the intersection of mainstream sponsorships, sports, athletic gear, and the media landscape, working with top-tier media outlets for coverage for his clients.
He comes from a PR background in sports with experience in the NFL and collegiate athletics. Patrick worked on the communications staff for the Washington Redskins from 2001-07, serving as Director from 2004-2007. In that role, he oversaw all aspects of media relations, primarily for football in addition to corporate/organization communications.
He began his career in sports communications on the college Sports Information Department (SID) level, working with the football and basketball teams at East Carolina and Cincinnati. Patrick has also staffed a number of high profile events, including seven Super Bowls, NBA All-Star Games, five Final Fours, PGA TOUR events, college Bowl games, National Championship games and conference championships.
Patrick has also developed a reputation as one of the top sports social media experts, speaking on such panels at events such as SXSW, Blogs with Balls, SEME, Social Media Club and Blogworld. He has also been recognized as one of the top sports communications professionals on Twitter. He is a sneakerhead, owning several pairs of Jordan’s, Air Max’s, Chuck Taylor’s and was married in Vans classics.
He lives in Silver Spring, MD with his wife Alexis and two children, Reese and Max.
